Ebay Ebook Success: The PayPal Payment Button Problem on eBay

If you sell ebooks on eBay then you are likely to choose PayPal as your preferred payment method. Not only is it one of the most convenient payment methods available it is also easy to integrate with automatic, digital delivery. Furthermore, it is one of the safest payment solutions for buyers and therefore customers will be more confident buying from you if you support PayPal.

Despite the many benefits there has been a recent problem with PayPal that affects sellers of ebooks on eBay. The problem that has occurred seems to only affect international buyers who are attempting to purchase from UK buyers. The transaction initially works as normal with customers agreeing to buy one of your ebooks and clicking 'Buy It Now.' However, when the buyer attempts to pay by clicking the 'Pay Now' button an error message appears.

This undoubtedly leaves many buyers confused as to what is going on with the transaction and also curious about how they should pay for the item. So how do you go about solving this problem? Well unfortunately the solution isn't that simple. Unfortunately you have to email every buyer who is experiencing the problem, with instructions on how to avoid it.

To avoid this problem buyers basically have to make a manual payment through PayPal for the eBay item instead of using the 'Pay Now' button on eBay. To do this buyers have to log into their PayPal account then click the 'Send Money' tab. From here the buyer then needs to click the 'Pay for eBay Items' tab and then select the eBay items which require payment.

Unfortunately, until PayPal solve the initial problem concerning the 'Pay Now' buttons on eBay, this is the only way to solve the problem. Although it is a much more long winded way of making the payment, it is the only way. Hopefully, this problem will be solved by PayPal in the near future but until then follow the advice in this article.
